I hope you will enjoy exploring my works.
My name is Vladimir Svetlik, I was born in Czechoslovakia, of Slovak origin and since my childhood I have lived in Quebec, Canada.
I started painting again after a long absence due to the daily grind required by my professional activities.
I taught myself to paint, guided by my parents.

Now retired, I finally have the time to paint more, and I paint more every day.

For me, painting is always, and above all, a moment of meditation.

I mainly create atmospheres and all my paintings are based on a certain abstraction of the subjects.

Through my painting, I enjoy exploring the gestures that give the work textures and intertwining colors, as well as a dynamic of movement and rhythm.

My preferred medium is oil, as it allows for multiple transparencies and depth in light.

My sources of inspiration are diverse, but I primarily draw on childhood memories, poetry, and music.

I believe art has the ability to awaken dreams within us by transforming them through emotions into a discourse that seeks a certain balance within the duality of beliefs.

So I invite viewers to embark on a visual journey through my paintings, whether they are landscapes, abstracts, or surrealist representations.

My paintings are waiting for someone to contemplate them every day; they’re looking for someone, perhaps YOU.
